If you’ve been following Bright Occasions for some time, then you know my feeling on award season. For me the Oscars is the Super Bowl of attire and beauty. While I loved watching Leo finally win his (well deserved and long overdue) oscar. It’s the fashion that I am always most excited about.
This year we saw some gorgeous white gowns, and beautiful wedding dress inspiration. And stunning colorful frocks that would be great inspiration for your bridal party! The big trends were white, jewel tones and classic black tuxedo’s. There was also a bit more simple but elegant sophistication to the dresses, yes there was sparkle, bling and bejeweled dresses, but also not a lot of over the top attire. It was perfect construction, body hugging, and amazing fabrics. I felt like there were very few misses! Everyone brought their A-game. Here are some of my favorite looks!
WHITE HOT: My absolute favorite was Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell. This is her best look yet, she just oozes sophistication in a modern way. Love, love, love her!
JEWEL TONES: Saoirse Ronan looked like a perfect emerald in her body hugging metallic green dress by Calvin Klien. As a new actress, she will be one to watch down the road!
COLOR: Alicia Vikander and Olivia Munn were among my top picks of the night. Loved Olivia’s tangerine Stella McCartney dress and Alicia looked fresh and fun in her custom Louis Vuitton.
MEN: Leonardo DiCaprio always looks amazing on the red carpet and his traditional Georgia Armani tux was no exception. I also enjoyed how Jared Leto and Kevin Hart brought their playful side.
