I met Emilie and Chuck last summer to discuss their fall 2012 wedding in Baltimore, MD at the Rawlings Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Right away, I could tell they were a strong and creative couple with a specific vision for their wedding. Their vision was a night filled with personal and DIY details, most importantly they wanted their friends and family to enjoy delicious food, dance to great music and to have fun!
I was so impressed by many of the DIY projects the bride took on, including all personal flowers (bouquet, boutonnieres), mercury glass and succulents centerpieces (which doubled as favors), programs/fans for the ceremony, and buying cut vegetables, cheese and beer for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. They also purchased flip-flops for all of the guests to take and wear once their dancing feet got tired! They were helped by supportive family, friends and bridal party members. Emilie’s Uncle officiated the ceremony and her Aunt made a gorgeous wedding cake. As a dog lover, I was pretty excited to see their (gentle giant) dog walk down the aisle and partake in the night.
The best part of the night for me, was to see how happy the couple and their parents were, and to see all of their guests enjoying the festive celebrations. Here are some beautiful photos that capture the story and emotion of their day! All photos by Baltimore based photograher Michael Owsianny.
