Ceremony Music

Many couples often think about their reception music and plan to hire a disc jockey or live band to perform. In addition to the music you will dance to, the music for your ceremony will set the tone for the evening. There are wonderful options for live musicians including harpists, strings, piano and guitar. Alternatively, with a wide selection of instrumental music online, disc jockeys can also provide beautiful music to enhance your ceremony.

I suggest that couples plan to have their musicians start to play music about thirty minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, as guests begin to arrive. This music can be a mixture of classic and modern songs. For the ceremony itself, couples should select songs for the processional (one or two songs for the wedding party and one song for the bride) and recessional (one song for everyone).

Here are a few of my favorite non-traditional (and not religious) songs for the processional and recessional:

Processional:

Hey There Deliliah by the Plain White T’s / Instrumental
Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars / Instrumental
Don’t Stop Believing by Journey / Instrumental

Recessional:

Happy by Pharell Williams / Instrumental
Wake me up by Avicii / Instrumental
Boom Clap by Charlie Xcx / Instrumental
