I love mixing classic and on-trend elements when designing celebrations, which is exactly how I would describe my bride’s Stephanie’s vision for her wedding. She and her fiance Chase have just begun to plan their summer 2013 wedding. I am thrilled to be apart of their special day! They plan to use the colors black and white, with an elegant mix of city chic and country cool decor. And this theme is true to life: they met in Washington and became engaged in New York.
Stephanie and Chase’s Story: Their first date was at a restaurant in downtown Washington, and as Chase says, “somewhere between dinner and dessert, I knew she was the one.” Fortunately, Stephanie agreed, especially as they left DC and moved up to the New York area for work that fall. A little more than a year later, Chase decided the engagement ring was burning a hole in his pocket and shocked Stephanie with a proposal. The rest is history. Stephanie, a native of Maryland, and Chase, a native of Tennessee, decided D.C. was the perfect weekend destination for their out-of-town guests. They are also hoping to move back to the area themselves sometime later this year. The ceremony will be at the couple’s parish church in Woodley Park, and the reception will be right next to the gorgeous open lawn of the National Cathedral.
