One of my personal favorite aspects of attending weddings for my friends and family is the dance party; I grew up in a big dancing family and I love it. It’s key to have a professional entertainment company and good music! Those of us in the wedding industry know Jennifer Reitmeyer of MyDeejay as the super friendly face behind Thursday Therapy. When she’s not planning networking events to connect wedding vendors in Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington, DC, she is the owner and operator of MyDeejay, a disc jockey company that works with couples throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia. Jennifer and her team are talented and dedicated to helping their clients plan a wonderful wedding celebration.
From Jennifer: I started in the wedding business way back in 1997 when I was fresh out of college, and just wildly in love with the idea of weddings. I spent my first few years in the industry as the on-site wedding coordinator for several venues, and eventually moved over to the entertainment field, working in sales and marketing. In late 2002, I co-founded MyDeejay, an upscale mobile disc jockey firm serving weddings throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia. We’re now in our eleventh year of business and have grown to 12 DJs strong, and I couldn’t be prouder of the company my team and I have built.
Our DJs are polished, professional, and completely committed to providing outstanding service to the couples who hire them. We match each couple with the perfect DJ for them based on music tastes, personality, age, and any other criteria the couple may have. The couple then gets to meet with the prospective DJ before signing a contract, to ensure it’s a great match. That DJ is then guaranteed to be the one spinning for the wedding. We’ve found that giving our clients the opportunity to build a real friendship with their DJ over the course of their planning makes a huge difference in the success of the wedding.
We consider ourselves to be our clients’ partner in developing an entirely personalized playlist for their event. The music will reflect the couple’s tastes and will create exactly the kind of atmosphere they’ve envisioned. For most of our clients, this means a dance floor that’s packed all night! I think our industry awards and 500+ glowing reviews is a pretty great testament to our service, but that’s nothing compared to the direct feedback we get from our couples – their joy and satisfaction make it all worthwhile, and we love what we do!
