Follow Friday: Stella & Dot

Earlier this month I kept meaning to do a “Follow Friday” post and then I got busy with fun personal events such as my 30th birthday, a trip to NYC, a bridal shower for a dear friend and a Stella & Dot trunk show with my book club.   But immediately after the Stella & Dot trunk show, when my husband mentioned how professional and nice everything looked, I knew this would be perfect to share with readers. Jewelry is a fun way to play with fashion (especially bridal and bridesmaid attire), makes great gifts for your girlfriends and bridal party members and generally can be worn by women of every age and size.

I met Rene Kauder, Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot last Spring through The DC Ladies blog.  I was immediately struck by how friendly and well accessorized she was.  When I asked about Stella & Dot I could feel her excitement and passion for the company.  A few weeks after I met Rene, I saw via Facebook that Bachelor Alum Peyton Wright (who wed Bachelorette Alum Chris Lambton) styled her and her bridesmaids in Stella & Dot Jewelry.  The Stella & Dot collection includes a nice variety of styles, and the pieces feel fresh and modern.  I love the Serenity Drop and Garden Party earrings worn by Peyton’s bridesmaids.

From Rene:  Just over 2 years ago I met a woman in Portland, Oregon while traveling for work.  We met to talk about Event Planning and at the time we barely even talked about the amazing necklace she was wearing and the journey she was just embarking on. After I returned home I couldn’t stop thinking about that necklace and what do you know, a few days later “it” walks on the set of the Bachelor Pad. (Yes, I know, but it was summer and there was nothing else on TV 🙂

I never imagined myself as someone who would sign up to do in home sales. I’m not a salesperson and I am the biggest self proclaimed introvert ever.  I actually had never even been to a “home party” before and I knew there was a bit of an “ick factor” associated with them. But there was something about Stella & Dot and that intrigued me. so I decided to take the plunge and become an Independent Stylist.  In the early beginning I never imagined I would be where I am today!

I work my Stella & Dot business part time in addition to my position in higher education administration. I love that I can build my own hours and work a flexible schedule.  In the past 2 years I have also be afforded the opportunity to work with an amazing team of women.  In addition to the most amazing jewelry wardrobe one can imagine, I have made life long friends because of this company. I couldn’t imagine my life without this “little” business and I would love to talk about this opportunity with others who might be looking for something to add to theirs!
