B&M’s wedding last summer was a truly memorable occasion, taking place at two significant locations: St. Alban’s Church, the bride and groom’s family church, and St. Alban’s School, the groom’s alma mater. Both venues held special meaning for the couple and were situated on the grounds of the National Cathedral in Washington DC. Choosing these locations created an intimate and meaningful atmosphere as the couple exchanged their vows surrounded by their loved ones.
The wedding venue exuded a perfect blend of relaxed elegance. The ceremony took place in St. Alban’s Church providing a serene and majestic setting. The church’s timeless beauty, complemented by its connection to the couple’s personal history, created a truly remarkable ambiance for the ceremony. Witnessing the bride and groom’s heartfelt vows in this meaningful space added an extra layer of depth and emotion to the occasion.
As the bride walked down the aisle, she carried a breathtaking bouquet filled with creamy peonies, garden roses, lisianthus, daisies, and chamomile. These delicate blooms were complemented by small touches of blue delphinium, adding a subtle pop of color to the bouquet. The bride’s choice of flowers beautifully reflected the natural and romantic aesthetic of the entire wedding.
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued in the school refectory which served as the reception venue. The refectory boasts stunning floor-to-ceiling windows as well as precious stained glass windows, filling the space with natural light and infusing a sense of tradition. This combination of abundant natural light and traditional elements contributed to a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
Guests were seated at either long farm tables or tables adorned with elegant linen. Sidra Forman, the talented floral designer, transformed the reception space with her artistry. She incorporated fresh florals and an abundance of greenery, creating a lush and vibrant setting. The use of farm tables added a touch of rustic charm, while the linen-covered tables complemented with a classic and refined feel. This thoughtful combination of elements added to the laid-back elegance that characterized the overall ambiance of the reception.
Margo not only curated a stunning event but she also showcased her artistic skills by personally crafting the stationary and signage, adding a unique and personalized touch to the overall design.
