We have some exciting events coming up for Bright Occasions and within the DC Event community. And we are thrilled to be bringing on a summer intern, Leah Moore, who is currently at The George Washington University studying Business, Marketing and Finance. Our team at Bright Occasions is still very much planning weddings, bar and bat mitzvah’s and corporate events within Washington, DC and beyond. As an introduction to our summer intern, Leah is sharing a post below!

Hi, I’m Leah Moore! I grew up in Northwest New Jersey, now going to school at The George Washington University. I’m in the Business School with a major in Marketing and a concentration in Finance.
My major being Marketing allows me to look into the Event Planning and Management industry which I am eager to get hands-on experience from Margo! Back in March I helped Margo and Bright Occasions LLC with Art in Bloom- a collection of just under 40 floral arrangements in the beautiful Anderson House.

At GWU I was on the Women’s Lacrosse team my Freshman year but then decided to step away to focus on my studies. During my Sophomore year I joined Kappa Kappa Gamma where I am surrounded by wonderful and intelligent women who inspire me to work hard.
I am thrilled to be joining the Bright Occasions team this summer to create outstanding experiences and events! If you want to know my Top Summer Fashion Trends read below!
Pastels, Sequins and Funky Belts/Scarfs are what all the girls are wearing this summer. “Butter Yellow” is one of the most versatile pastels allowing you to pair it with really anything in your summer wardrobe. Pictured on the right the yellow maxi skirt is paired with a champagne sequin top.
A fun belt is the perfect finishing touch to every outfit this summer! No need to go out and buy one, use a long necklace that you haven’t been able to find a use for. Paired with a pastel pink maxi skirt in the middle of the photo a multi-colored gem and gold belt was layered on top to break up the look.
Everyone loves a matching set, it’s so convenient when trying to get dressed quickly in the heat of summer. Another way to spice it up is to add a neck scarf. No, it won’t make you overheat in the sun but it will add the perfect accessory your outfit has been needing as seen above!
