Today I’m sharing Labor Day party inspiration for Katlyn Sheppard, winner of my 2013 Pinterest Contest and owner of Annapolis, MD area Katlyn Rose Photography! Katlyn and her family are planning to invite friends and family to their cabin in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Located in the woods, near the Maryland border, makes the cabin a perfect day trip for relatives living in the area. They plan to start in the afternoon with specialty drinks and finger foods, while hanging out and enjoying the last official weekend of summer. They will fire up the grill later in the afternoon with some burgers, ribs, and hot dogs. Katlyn will set a few picnic tables for dinner. In between eating and hanging out, they will play games like corn hole, horseshoe, and possibly shooting guns in the woods. After dinner they will enjoy dessert, including roasted s’mores over a bonfire and ice cream. This night will end with the bonfire and fireworks to celebrate.
I created the inspiration board’s below with Katlyn’s idea to have an Americana themed BBQ. Both include red, white and blue details, craft project ideas and simple floral looks to decorate. I loved the “Keep Calm and Grill On” invitation I found via a google images search, and the cute end of summer outfits featured on Polyvore.com. The ideas in both boards would work well for red, white and blue parties all summer.
