I love blending elements of different styles to create a unique look. This Modern Rustic Chic table was designed for a bridal show, A Chic Affair, that Bright Occasions participated in this past March. See the full set of professional event photos from A Chic Affair by the team at Photojournalism by Rodney Bailey. We will be sharing more from A Chic Affair next week!
The show was held at Dock 5 in Union Market, a space that is industrial cool with exposed brick, high ceilings, bistro lighting and large glass garage doors that open the space to it’s own outside dock and private alley. It’s got a great mix of an urban feel with timeless elegance. To carry that juxtaposition through this look, I wanted to create a table that was timeless, yet modern. The touches of rustic chic elements also added another level and is a trend that is here to stay. White flowers are always lovely and classic, adding in touches of gray and green and set on top of a rustic (vintage) farm table is a stunning result! Thanks to all the vendors who contributed (see the full list below) and to our friend Emily Clack for stopping by to photograph our table.
This farm table could be used for all guest dinner tables, or just for an extra special head or “kings” table. One of my favorite additions was the table number sign with hand calligraphy. Pro-tip, purchase glass picture frames from your local craft/frame store to recreate this look.
Candlelight is hugely popular and definitely a trend that is here to stay. We kept the flowers long, lush and low with tall candles. Instead of traditional white candles, we used gray candles with modern white candle holders.
Hand calligraphy is a really special touch. These base plates double as favors. This look could be used for all your guests or even just for your wedding party at a head or kings table.
I love succulents! They are beautiful and a wonderful addition to make the place setting really pop. We paired them with the soft gray napkins to complete the look.
Thanks again for the vendors who contributed:
