Last Fall I had the pleasure to work with Ally and Dave for their wedding at Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC. Ally is a wine expert and their wedding included amazing food and wine, a fun dance party with DJ Dan Goldman, sweet florals and one of my favorite wedding gowns from 2014. Photographer Anne Lord was there to capture the day; it was great to work with Spilled Milk Catering and the entire vendor team (see full list below).
Ally and her bridesmaids got ready at a hotel near Carnegie. Their beauty was enhanced by great hair and make-up from one of my favorite teams, Julie at Jewel Hair Design and Ryan at Blend Make-up Artistry. They chose to get dressed at Carnegie; I loved their chambray chic getting ready look.
Ally wore a stunning Romona Kevaza champagne gown. It was equal parts bridal and chic.
Meanwhile, Dave and his groomsmen arrived at Carnegie. The two chose not to see eachother until the ceremony.
Prior to the ceremony, Ally and her flower girls and bridesmaids took photos upstairs. There isn’t a bad place to take photos in Carnegie, it is a stunning venue.
Ally and Dave got married in front of the double doors in the Rotunda.
Congrats to the happy couple! After the ceremony, they took additional photos alone and with their wedding party on the grand front steps at Carnegie.
Ally and Dave chose to do their first dance prior to dinner, after dinner they cut their gorgeous wedding cake and then Ally shared a dance with her dad and Dave with his mom.
Later in the evening, one of my favorite moments happened. Ally revealed her dress was actually a two-piece! She and Dave then enjoyed a fun dance party for the remainder of the night.
