Last May I had the pleasure to work with fellow American University Alum’s Caroline and Ron. It was an honor to be a part of their wedding. Family and friends travelled to Alexandria, VA for their wedding held at the George Washington Masonic Memorial; a stunning venue that is also a memorial and museum. Photographer Anne Lord did a phenomenal job capturing the day; it was great to work with Main Event Caterers and the entire vendor team (see full list below).
Here are the highlights from this beautiful wedding:
Caroline and Ron got ready at separate hotels in Old Town. They chose to do a first look outside the George Washington Masonic Memorial and then take photos with their wedding party and immediate family.
I loved the choice of J.Crew bridesmaids dresses; each girl chose a slightly different style dress in the same color and fabric. The color was also a great choice for their end of May wedding and made the beautiful bouquets from L’Artisan Lily really pop.
Their ceremony was held in the North Lodge Room at the George Washington Masonic Memorial and was officiated by Caroline’s cousin.
After their ceremony, Caroline and Ron took additional photos with extended family members and together.
Their reception was held in the Grand Masonic Hall at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. I loved the purple uplighting they chose; with the marble columns that line the space, it’s a space that can really be transformed with beautiful lighting. For centerpieces, they kept it simple and elegant with floating orchids and candlelight. To fit the venue, tables were named after Presidents.
To start the reception, Caroline and Ron introduced their wedding party and then shared their first dance. After dinner, each danced with their parents before opening the dance floor for the rest of the night.
Congratulations again to Caroline and Ron who will be celebrating their first anniversary next month. And thanks to Anne Lord Photography for capturing the day so beautifully!
