Jessica and Steve’s rustic chic wedding with beautiful homemade details was wonderful to be a part of. Their ceremony and wedding reception was held at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia. In addition to the feminine styling, their reception had some wonderful touches, including personalized desserts and treats, a unique “guest book” and a surprise groom’s cake. It was wonderful to work with Victoria Ruan Photography, R&R Catering and the entire vendor team (see full list below).
Family photos were scattered throughout the farmhouse at River Farm. I love that in addition to photos of Jessica and Steve, they chose to display these old time photos of parents and grandparents.
In lieu of a guest book, Jessica and Steve asked family and friends to sign a wooden L, for their last name.
Cocktail hour included delicious passed hors d’oeurves, like this crab cakes, from R&R Catering.
The flowers for the wedding were a combination of DIY floral designs made by the bride and Whole Foods. As we were setting up, I was so impressed by the flowers Jessica created. DIY flowers are not easy to do!
I loved that Jessica and Steve included thank you notes for each guest at their place setting. It’s a sweet touch and is much appreciated by friends and family!
After dinner and the heartfelt toasts, guests were invited inside the house. Jessica and Steve shared their first dance and then Jessica shared a dance with her father and Steve with his mother.
Later in the evening, Jessica and Steve cut their wedding cake and the surprise Groom’s Cake made by Fancy Cakes by Leslie!
