Last Fall I had the pleasure to work with Kristen and Kevin for their wedding at Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC. From Kristen’s “something blue” shoes and gorgeous sapphire engagement ring, to their sweet ceremony officiated by a former professor and lively dance party, this wedding is one for the books. Their beautiful Fall wedding was captured by Marcella Treybig Photograpy. It was great to work with Main Event Caterers, Petal’s Edge and the entire vendor team (see full list below). Here is part one from their day, which included a great photo session at the Lincoln Memorial.
I loved Kristen’s bridal style! Her dress and those fun blue shoes were perfectly complimented by a statement necklace. Her bouquet by Petal’s Edge was another perfect accessory. I am a sucker for bold and bright flowers and love the pairing of fuchsia orchids with the silver brunea pods and blue thistle.
While Kristen got ready with her bridesmaids, Kevin spent the morning with the guys. I loved their choice of ties and suits, which complimented the overall wedding colors quite nicely.
Kristen and Kevin chose to do a first look and portraits on the National Mall. These photos by Marcella Treybig are just beautiful! You can really feel their excitement and love.
Instead of picking a specific dress or even designer, Kristen let her bridesmaids pick any knee-length navy dress. The result was a perfectly coordinated but not overly matching look. And it really worked!
After taking photos downtown, they arrived at Carnegie in time for some more family and wedding party photos.
Then guests arrive for their wedding ceremony, which was held in the Rotunda at Canegie.
