Katy is from the state of Washington, Mike is from NYC ; they found each other and love in Washington, DC. We loved working with these two for their wedding at The Whittemore House in Dupont Circle. Their wedding included meaningful details, such as bird cages in remembrance of Mike’s grandfather and Katy’s favorite Washington State wines. Plus these two lovebirds are one of the sweetest couples! Here is part one of their day by Andrea Zajonc Photography (you can see more from Katy and Mike’s wedding via the photographer’s blog):
Katy and her bridesmaids started the day getting ready together with Jordan K. Winn & Co. Katy wore a beautiful and etherial wedding dress from BHLDN and her bridesmaids coordinated in navy chiffon dresses from Watters.
Katy is amazing Yogi bride; she is a natural beauty made even more beautiful by being so in love.
And can we talk about her bouquet! It’s one of our favorites of all time by Eighttree Street. 
While Katy was getting ready with the girls, Mike and his groomsmen were getting ready as well.
Katy and Mike decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and do photos around Dupont and Georgetown before the ceremony. The “first look” is always one of our favorite parts of the day. Andrea Zajonc Photography, did a phenomenal job capturing their love and excitement!
Katy and Mike chose to get married against the fireplace in the ballroom at The Whittemore House. Family photos, candles, bird cages and pretty floral arraignments were a lovely backdrop.
We loved how excited Katy and Mike were to get married. That is the best part of our job – being a part of that happiness!
Andrea Zajonc Photography, did an amazing job capturing the day. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the front of the house, followed by the reception with Occasions Caterers. Part 2 photos will be posted later this week.
