On the blog this week, we are sharing Chris and Brianna’s colorful Spring wedding in Washington, DC at Daughters of the American Revolution. We are fortunate to have worked with many wonderful couples, each with their own love story. As we work closely with our couples, they often do feel like friends in the end. Their joys are our joys and their struggles are our struggles. Brianna unfortunately and very unexpectely was diagnosed with cancer a month before her wedding last Spring. And so their wedding was beautiful, but it was also an extremely emotional day, full of love and happiness as family and friends gathered together. For their wedding, they wanted it to feel fun, happy and just very “them”. A close friend officiated their wedding, which was an intimate ceremony under the portico, an area that Brianna and Chris fell in love with when touring the venue. Their heartfelt vows to one another left no dry eyes among their guests as they witnessed this special wedding ceremony. Afterward, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the DAR library and a family style dinner on two dramatic tables in the O’Byrne Gallery. As an event planner, we love when couples hire us to help with the creative design aspect of the wedding. And one of the highlights were the Kate Spade inspired place settings, alternating peach, pink and teal plates down a dramatic table, set over a soft gray linen. Eight Tree Street floral design used high and low centerpieces down the two tables for a beautiful tablescape, leaving room for platters of delicious cuisine from Design Cuisine. All was beautifully captured by Emily Clack Photography, the full vendor list is below.
UPDATE TO THIS POST: Sweet Brianna lost her battle to cancer in March 2019. Her beautiful spirit lives on through those who knew her and loved her. She was someone that I connected with immediately and am heartbroken about her death. My heart breaks for her husband Chris and their family. I’m keeping this post on the blog so we can look back with wonderful memories of their wedding.
Brianna wore a fitted lace bridal gown by Modern Trousseau and carried a lush bouquet of white peonies and orange ranunculus. Those who know Brianna, know that she has an upbeat and infectious personality. It was only fitting that she chose a fun color palette of shades of orange, peach, teal, white and gray for the wedding.
B&C’s beloved bunny was incorporated in a painted love story map and seating chart by local artist Brittany Branson .
We loved working with B&C for their colorful Spring wedding in Washington, DC at the Daughters of the American Revolution. And we are so thankful that Brianna is feeling good and fighting cancer! To see more weddings we have planned head over to our gallery page.
