Heartfelt Summer DC Wedding at The Hay-Adams Hotel – Real Wedding for M&A Part 1

Last year we had the pleasure to work with Maya and Alex for their heartfelt summer DC wedding at The Hay-Adams Hotel. As a wedding planner, Maya and Alex were just a joy to work with, so excited about the process and about getting married. They live in NY and decided to get married in Washington, DC where Maya grew up. We often work with clients who live out of state to plan their Washington, DC weddings. Maya, who works at Zola Registry in NYC, had some great ideas to incorporate for the wedding and both she and Alex chose so many beautiful and meaningful details. Leading up to the wedding, I knew it was going to be a special day. Their wedding was incredibly beautiful, but also extremely heartfelt and emotional. Maya‘s mother Cadi, sadly passed away a few months before the wedding. Their family and friends surrounded Maya and Alex with love and strength on their wedding day, and Cadi’s presence was felt by all. Everything was perfectly captured by Astrid Photography (see the full DC wedding vendor list below). Here is part 1, from the start of their heartfelt summer DC wedding at The Hay-Adams Hotel. Maya and Alex worked with a designer in NY to custom design their letterpress wedding invitations. I loved the DC skyline envelope liner they chose and how the invitation was reflective of their wedding style.

Maya and her mom Cadi picked out her wedding dress together at Kleinfeld Bridal (she wore a Danielle Caprese gown). I love that she was able to have that moment with her mom. She chose a picture of the special moment for a locket and we tied it to her bouquet. =

How sweet is this first look moment? Maya and Alex were so excited to be getting married and it really shows in their photos.
