Classic DC Wedding at Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

It is such an honor to be sharing highlights from Bethy and Josh’s classic DC Wedding at Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). You can see highlights from their intimate New Jersey elopement here. I am sharing a beautiful summary of the day written by Bethy below. Bethy was my first ever event assistant, turned event associate and now event planner at Planned Parenthood, whom I am honored to call a friend. Thanks to Kate Fine Art Photography and the entire creative team,  listed below.

An event planner myself, I was thrilled to be able to finally put a decade of professional experience to use for my own wedding at last. Joshua and I are both originally from New Jersey, but as we have made our home here in D.C., we decided we wanted to have a classic black tie D.C. wedding. I had always had the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as a venue in mind because of its classical architecture and historic portico terrace, but also because my great-grandmother was a member. We tried to incorporate our family and culture into our wedding planning at all stages. We were very excited to be married by my mother in-law, Lisa Tyler, who got ordained specifically for our wedding and made the ceremony so intimate and special. After eloping last year at an immediate family only Chinese tea ceremony, we were so glad to have all our family and friends join in to celebrate our first anniversary this year. Dancing under the twinkling stars to our favorite songs, it felt like the most spectacular September day that we will always remember.

Congrats again to Bethy and Josh! We loved working with them (twice) for their intimate New Jersey wedding (see highlights here) and for their classic DC wedding at Daughters of the American Revolution. And thanks again to Kate Fine Art Photography and the entire creative team for making it a wonderful wedding!
