Last year I had the pleasure of working with Athena and Blair for their super fun and colorful wedding at Sequoia in Georgetown. Athena and Blair ultimately wanted to have an intimate and personal wedding ceremony and then a reception that allowed them to kick back and celebrate with loved ones. They also planned a great weekend in Georgetown with a rehearsal dinner and after party at The Graham Hotel. On their wedding day, we truly lucked out with perfect weather, and guests were able to take advantage of the waterfront views and private patio at Sequioa for the inside-outside event. Instead of individual favors, The Dandelion Patch worked with us to create the super cute large program.
Instead of a traditional seated dinner, Athena and Blair chose to do a cocktail style reception. We incorporated low and high cocktail tables with seating and barstools throughout the inside space and outside terrace.
As a nod to Athena and Blair’s late dog, they had an ice sculpture made for the raw bar. Guests enjoyed savory stations with a variety of cuisines and instead of cake, we set-up a dessert table for guests to enjoy that night and also to take away sweets for favors.
The sweet confections by Sweets by E were a huge hit. Many guests had some for dessert and others took boxes to go.
